Webster defines “Compassion” as:  sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

Have you ever had someone treat you so bad that you wish they did not exist?  I think we all have been there at some point. What did they do to you that was so bad? Did they steal from you, did they abuse you, did they mistreat you, did they lie on you? No matter what it was, there must be something in their psyche that caused them to cause harm to others.

Sometimes we must step outside of ourselves and what is being done to us to feel compassion for others.  Take a moment to close your eyes and picture that person who hurt you in your mind. Now picture seeing their heart and how dark and hardened it is. Picture seeing them at home lonely, fearful, and without love and support.

Did you get it? It’s called compassion, it’s the gift you want to give others, because it was given to you.

Show someone compassion today
